A supportive space for teens, young adults, neurodivergent individuals and parents navigating life’s challenges

Whether you’re a teen feeling overwhelmed, a young adult finding your feet, or a parent supporting a neurodivergent child, you don’t have to figure this out alone.

About me

Hello, I’m Nic, Counsellor and founder of Next Chapter Counselling.

I offer a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space for teenagers, young adults, neurodivergent individuals and parents to talk things through and make sense of what is going on for them.

I have worked in the education sector for over 10 years, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people, parents and education professionals. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent young people, adults, as well as parents navigating the joys and challenges of raising neurodivergent children.

You don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out. Counselling can offer a space to feel heard, understood and supported at your own pace.

When I’m not counselling, you will find me with my nose in a book, walking my dog Jasper, enjoying long walks in the countryside or snuggling on the sofa.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their Ethical Framework, providing a safe, professional and confidential counselling service.

You don’t need to have all of the answers.

You don’t need to cope alone.

You don’t need to have the right words.

You deserve support too.

How counselling can help

You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure where to turn. Maybe things have been building for a while or perhaps something specific has tipped everything over.

You don’t need to have the right words, a clear reason, or a plan. Counselling can offer a calm, supportive space to talk things through, make sense of what’s going on, and feel less alone with it. For some people, counselling is the first place they’ve properly felt listened to.

I work with teens, young adults and adults who may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, overwhelm or difficulties linked to neurodiversity. I also support parents who are navigating the emotional and practical challenges of supporting a neurodivergent child.

Sessions are a space to slow things down, explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, and begin to find a way forward that feels right for you.

What to expect when we work together

Counselling isn’t about being told what to do or having all the answers. It offers a safe and confidential space where you can talk openly about what is on your mind, explore your thoughts and feelings, and begin to make sense of your experiences.

Some people come to counselling with a specific issue they would like support with, while others simply know something doesn’t feel quote right. There is no expectation to have everything figured out before you begin. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, focussing on what matters most in your life.

My approach is warm, supportive and tailored to your individual needs. I believe that every person is different, so our work together will reflect your unique experiences, strengths and challenges. Whether you are navigating anxiety, low mood, life changes or the challenges that can come with neurodiversity, counselling can provide a space to feel heard, understood and supported.

If you are considering counselling and would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch. I would be happy to answer any questions and help you decide whether counselling feels like the right step for you.
